Soaring above the hauntingly beautiful pristine beaches and magnificent dunes along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, it’s clear why a flying safari is one of the finest ways to travel across Africa and in particular this incredible area of Namibia. Stretching from the south of Namibia up into Angola, the Skeleton Coast and its hinterland is a vast landscape of rolling sand dunes, uninhabited desert plains, fossil beds, unique geological formations, and desert-adapted animals.
With your expert pilot showcasing breathtaking desolate landscapes, our private Namibia flying safari offers the ultimate way to experience this extensive concession area of 16,845 square kilometres. Seen from above, you will gain a real sense of the topography of the country which takes you on an exhilarating journey to the most untouched regions, far off the beaten track. Your safari will be led by the Schoeman family who are the leading aerial experts of the region. Louw Schoeman and his family have been leading conservation efforts since he played an instrumental role in the proclamation of the area as a national park in 1971.

"During a Skeleton Coast safari, panoramic birds-eye views of eerie shipwrecks and dramatic geological formations drifting silently below become imprinted on your mind."
Spend anything from three nights to a week flying along the desert coastline to witness mist-enshrouded beaches strewn with bleached whalebones and rusted shipwrecks. Every day you wake up to a new adventure exploring the skies, with each night spent in a different location finishing on the border of Angola.
The itinerary has been curated with our aviation guide’s unrivalled experience and knowledge of the region, including overnight stops at Damaraland, Kaokoland and on the north-western Namibian border overlooking the Kunene River and Angola. On the week-long safari, the journey begins at Walvis Bay and takes you into the vast Namib Desert, one of the oldest deserts in the world that covers much of the country.
Each location showcases the diversity of the landscape in all its mystical splendour, with captivating stories and mysteries unravelled by your expert flying guide who knows it best. Look out for the wildlife that miraculously survives here including chameleons, snakes and lizards with occasional sightings of desert lion and elephant as well as jackal and Cape fur seals on the beaches. Flying almost at sea level along the endless beaches below the fog banks that roll in is an other-worldly experience.
