Chinmay Vasavada
Born and raised in India, Chinmay developed a keen interest in travel at an early age, as he accompanied his father on archaeological expeditions across the country. After a short stint as a French language teacher and interpreter, Chinmay joined a renowned heritage hotel in Ahmedabad where he curated unique travel programmes for in-house guests and coordinated major cultural events. Before joining Explorations Company, Chinmay spent over a decade in London working for another travel company, curating high-end bespoke holidays to Asia.
Chinmay’s travels so far have taken him to many parts of the world across Asia, Europe and North America. His heart lies in Asia though with a keen interest in cultural heritage, architecture, and photography. Some of his favourite travel experiences have been hiking on the Great Wall of China, seeing pandas in Chengdu, witnessing a traditional wedding ceremony at the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo, stargazing in Nong Khiaw in Northern Laos, seeing a pod of the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins in Cambodia, hiking in the lush mountains surrounding the Inle Lake in Myanmar, paragliding over Phewa Lake and seeing Mount Everest at close quarters in Nepal, looking for tigers in the mangrove forests of Sunderbans and visiting the majestic temples of Hampi in India, and admiring the Northern Lights in Iceland.
